Light the World, One by One

By Becky Squire

Each year during the Christmas season, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints encourages people worldwide to spread the message and mission of #LightTheWorldIt's an invitation to transform Christmas into a season of service.

The movement brings people together by doing the things Jesus did: feeding the hungry, comforting the lonely, visiting the sick and afflicted, and showing kindness to everyone. Jesus said, “Ye are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). #LightTheWorld is the perfect way to let our light—and His light—shine brightly. And even with many restrictions this year, there are still plenty of ways to serve.

Christ Child Video

The Church's nativity video called The Christ Child is available to watch, download, and share with family and friends. This 18-minute video is a beautiful rendition of the nativity story that will help you experience and share the events of the Savior's birth. The story will come to life as a real event that happened to real people.

The video is available on the Gospel Library, YouTube, and LighttheWorld.org.
