25 Simple Ways to Light the World

It's almost time for the annual #LightTheWorld initiative by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Every year, this campaign encourages people all over the world to share their light with their family, in their community, and throughout the world. You can light the world too! It doesn't have to be grand or complicated. Here are 25 simple ways to light the world this Christmas:

  1. Send an uplifting text to someone in your phone.
  2. Smile at everyone you pass today.
  3. Hold the door open for someone.
  4. Pay for the car in front of you in the drive-thru.
  5. Bring a drink or treat to a friend.
  6. Focus on one of Christ's attributes today.
  7. Go through your things and find something to donate.
  8. Compliment a friend and/or family member.
  9. Visit someone who might be lonely today.
  10. Write down three reasons you are grateful for Jesus Christ.
  11. Ask a family member how you can help them out today.
  12. Share one of the Light the World videos on social media.
  13. Write thank-you notes to your church leaders.
  14. Do your ministering.
  15. Ask someone how they really are and listen.
  16. Go through and leave nice messages on social media posts.
  17. Forgive someone who has wronged you.
  18. Take a family name to the temple.
  19. Be kind to yourself.
  20. Share your testimony in person or on social media.
  21. Make a Christmas package for missionaries serving from and in your area.
  22. Offer to babysit for someone who might need a break.
  23. Share a spiritual experience with a loved one.
  24. Bring some flowers to your mom.
  25. Share your light at a giving machine.

Want even more ideas? Text LIGHT to 71234 and become part of someone's Christmas story in this year's text series. The world needs more love, more laughter, and more light. And YOU can be that light. Whether your efforts are big or small, they are needed and they are noticed. Join me in sharing the light of Christ this season. The world needs you.

Just curious how #4 can be done. The bill is usually paid BEFORE you get a turn at the window.
